If Loving These Trader Joe's Cleanising Pads Is Wrong, I Don't Want to Be Right.

I’ve known many men in my life, but few have been as giving or as supportive as my beloved Trader Joe.

When I need a fairly priced bottle of vino, Joe’s got me. An assortment of salty snacks to store at my desk like a squirrel stowing away nuts for winter? He has me covered. So it should be no surprise that when I ventured into Trader Joe’s miscellaneous household aisle a couple years back, I walked out with what would soon become a medicine cabinet essential:

Trader Joe’s Natural Facial Cleansing Pads.

Technically they're from Trader Joe's SPA collection, which I just picture as this place where even the masseuses wear Hawaiian shirts. Also technically you're supposed to rinse with water after using them but I never do. Instead I use them as a lazy morning / mid-day / mid-travel / post-workout fix for cleaning up the oilier areas of my combo face (spoiler alert: there are many).

And while I shouldn't advertise it, I also use them post-picking  (I'm sorry, some days those pimples are just asking for it) because tea tree has natural antibacterial qualities and it's much less harsh then disinfecting with straight rubbing alcohol.

Over time, these wonder wipes have worked their way into other aspects of my life. When I need to remove sticky residue from price tag stickers and product labels (if you're not repurposing your candle jars, ya crazy), these wipes are worth their weight in gold. They're also the only thing I've found that can magically remove stains from my porous white stone countertops.

It's power cleaning abilities like this, however, that make me question if the pads are actually safe for my delicate skin. But according to Skin Safe, which gave the pads a very positive rating of 91 out of 100, they're free of common preservatives, parabens, and other allergens like lanolin, coconut, and nickel. (Plus they don't test on animals!)

So not only am I going to keep using these astringent pads on my face (thanks witch hazel), I'm also going to use them anywhere else I can think of, because I just may have a holy grail product on my hands.
